How to Reduce Post-Training Pain

It’s normal for all of us to suffer from post-training pain after an intense workout, have you ever felt them? We’re sure you have if you like to exercise. But don’t worry, there are ways to handle these pains and Stevian Forte is going to let you know how! So be ready to take some notes.

Why does post-training pain happen?

It happens after an intense workout where you test your resistance and your body by doing exercises that take you to the limit, pushing yourself to give your best and finishing exhausted after your routine. This is a response of your immune system, which is in charge of protecting your body from any danger. This pain means that the muscle tissues have broken, and your body is trying to heal them. But don’t worry, you’re not critically injured, this reconstruction process is natural and it’s what will make you increase your muscle mass.

When you start exercising or have a long time without working out, it is normal to feel pain and get a little bit swollen. This is just your body’s response to something that you aren’t used to. You have to be careful and not overexercise; the pain doesn’t have to feel like you can’t move. You can feel it when you get up from a chair or when you’re about to sit down; this kind of movements produce aches that are completely normal.

What to do to relieve post-training pain?

  1. Stretch when you finish your exercising.
  2. Rest the necessary amount of time. Work out 5 or 6 days a week, not every day.
  3. Take a hot shower and let your legs, arms, back, and neck feel the temperature. Get relaxed by the effect of the water.
  4. Ask somebody to massage the zone where you feel the most pain. Or give yourself a massage if possible.
  5. Drink lots of water.
  6. Sleep enough during the night.
  7. You can take a painkiller like ibuprofen, if you feel like you need it.
  8. If the pain is unbearable, go see a doctor. Maybe you caused some other damage to your muscles.

Apply these post-workout tips and they’ll help you with your pain. They are not magic; you’ll always feel pain if you exercise properly; it’s normal, and there is no way to avoid it completely. Try to change your training routine every 2 months, so your body doesn’t get used to the same habit for a long time and so you can keep growing and toning your muscles.
